NIN

Ok for most of you people that really love Nin I find all this information from other sites so if i have info thats not true just let me know k?          Anyways, Trent has his own label that he himself is also on. And I was getting a lot (i mean a lot) of emails to put Manson on my site but I decided not to because im not all that big of fan of his...so Im really sorry you Manson Fans. But back to Nin. Trent Reznor is the one to blame if you dont like Manson, He put him on Nothin Records and BANG!?! He became famouse.      A weird thing that I discovered not to long ago was that Trent Reznor Moved into the house where Sharon Tate was murrded!?! OMG. He Moved in around 1993 and he recorded The Downward Spiral in that very house. Wow! So that very Recored was recorded where The REAL Manson killed....creepy

NEWS

1/30/02) -- Nine Inch Nails owns the top two debut albums on this week's Billboard 200 album chart. Nine Inch Nails released two versions of And All That Could Have Been. The deluxe audio version of the live album, which includes the "deconstructed" EP Still, debuted at Number 26, and the single disc release version debuted at Number 37.

If Soundscan (the company that tallies record sales) combined the numbers for the audio two releases, And All That Could Have Been would have debuted at Number 12, with sales of approximately 61,400 copies.

In addition, the DVD version of And All That Could Have Been debuted at Number One on the Billboard DVD Music Video chart.

Reznor told LAUNCH the DVD and live album project marks the end of an era for Nine Inch Nails. "I think that from looking at this footage and working on this project I'm proud of what we've done and I'm proud to present it now this way," he said. "And I'm also able now to feel like to this phase of Nine Inch Nails there's closure to it, and it's time to move on to whatever the next thing is. And it's almost like a grieving process in that because there's a lot of things I really like about the way we've toured and the songs we've played, but I think also we've kind of... It's run its course."

Fans who only want the "deconstructed" companion disc Still or who only bought the DVD or single disc version without the EP can order it through the Nine Inch Nails website.

BIO

With just two full-length albums to his credit, NIN's Trent Reznor established himself as the industrial emissary to mainstream America, much as Kurt Cobain was grunge's envoy. Although Ministry had made great strides in expanding the appeal of the genre, Reznor was the one who gave it what the American record buying public wants--hooks. Looming behind the sizzling guitars, pummeling dance rhythms and lush production of NIN's debut, Pretty Hate Machine, is Reznor's flair for writing engaging tunes and sculpting raw angst into arresting lyrical imagery. It's hard to tell whether it's the sinfully seductive saunter of the music or Reznor's petulant lyrical observations ("Lay my hands on Heaven the sun and the moon and the stars/While the devil wants to fuck me in the back of his car") that's more compelling.

Defying the laws of pop music universe, Reznor then recorded a follow-up album much more tortuous and less accessible than Pretty Hate Machine that actually outsold PHM. The impeccably crafted music on The Downward Spiral is relentlessly bleak, often jarring and starkly beautiful. Unlike many pomo angst-mongers, the strife (whether real or imagined) isn't just for show. Where others flaunt, Reznor delves, using his genuine gift for poetic phrasing to stunning effect, whether he's venting with sly spite ("Piggy") or acquiescing to inner devastation ("Eraser"). The label change between Machine and Spiral involved a lot of legal wranglings and as a stop-gap Reznor recorded a six-song EP titled Broken and a 12-inch single containing three different versions of "Sin" plus a forceful rendering of Queen's "Get Down Make Love."

As finely wrought as any of his NIN work is his expanding work in soundtracks. For Oliver Stone's Natural Born Killers, Reznor artfully entwined music, dialogue, imagery to create a soundscape that transcends the film itself. Reznor's soundtrack for David Lynch's Lost Highway is a more surreal, low-key affair, but it is no less crafty.
